Gateway to be profiled at Rural Health Brown Bag Lunch Series

Dr. Beverly Leipert, the Chair in Rural Women’s Health Research the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry are pleased to invite undergraduate, graduate students, faculty and community members to the Rural Health Brown Bag Lunch Series.

Speakers: C. Munoz, MD, PhD; G. Deveraux, RN; & W. K. Milne, MD, CCFP-EM

Title: Building Research Infrastructure for Rural Health Issues: A Community-Driven Model in Southwestern Ontario

Dr. Munoz is the Scientific Director of the new Gateway Rural Health Research Institute in Seaforth, Huron County. He is also a Research Associate at the Stroke Prevention and Atherosclerosis Research Centre at the Robarts Research Institute.

Ms. Deveraux is a community development leader with interest in economical development for rural communities. She is also a physician recruiter leader for rural communities in Huron and Perth Counties.

Dr. Milne is a rural emergency physician, researcher and an adjunct professor at the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Western Ontario.

The team will speak about the vital mission and role of the Gateway Rural Health Research Institute in advancing rural health research, practice, education and policy.
